Themed Events
Birkenhead Priory

This was where the first Ferry across the Mersey was operated from by the Benedictine Monks.

We were asked to cater for a wedding here in the style of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I.

All the guests were dressed in the relevant costumes of the period and drank mead whilst wandering minstrels played lutes and sang ditties.

The Bride and Groom, who arrived in a horse-drawn carriage, greeted their guests at the bottom of the stairs at the entrance to the hall. Hoops of flowers hung from the wooden beams. The Bride and Groom were married in the Priory Chapel.

We have also put on buffets and fundraising events at the Priory.

The Warships, Birkenhead Docks

The Frigate, HMS Plymouth; The Submarine, HMS Onyx together with a light-ship and a German U-Boat are preserved here by the Warships Preservation Trust.

We have put on a fund raising dance on the frigate on three separate occasions. The first time a buffet was set up on the helicopter deck with a disco, majorettes and a Sea Cadets Brass Band. The last two times the buffet was served from the ship's galley with a disco and a singing group called "Company B". The bar was operated by The Birkenhead Lions' on an 'occasional permission' licence.

Everyone enjoyed these events and the preservation trust also benefited. The guests were allowed to roam around the submarine and the light-ship until 10pm and then return to the frigate. The Plymouth was lit up with flags flying as if visiting a foreign port.

It was aboard HMS Plymouth that the Argentine surrender was signed after the Falklands war.

Williamson Art Gallery

We were asked to provide a smorgasbord and a reception for a dentist's seminar. The food and tables were set up in the art gallery and drinks were served on entrance. Surrounded by hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of pictures, the curator gave a 20 minute lecture on the museum. The guests were then allowed free access to the rest of the gallery and exhibitions at their leisure.

We have also provided a five course luncheon for a hospital AGM following the same format as the dentist's.

Town Halls

At both the Wallasey and Birkenhead Town Halls we have provided catering for several weddings and recently we catered for the Mayor's Summer Fund raising Ball in Birkenhead Town Hall.

Mersey Ferry

We provided a smorgasbord for an engineering company aboard the Mountwood Ferry as it cruised up and down the River Mersey.

Olivieris Catering

We have also catered for weddings in marquees and each event themed or otherwise offers a different challenge each time. Nevertheless, it is very rewarding and can become quite emotional when you see the response from the Bride and Groom on seeing the results of our labours.
